Twenty-one years of 3 a.m. alarms.
Boun learned to make donuts from his brother-in-law and has been fine-tuning his craft for two decades. Penny spent five years as a dental assistant, where she learned the thing she still practices at the counter every morning: get to know people.
They opened Delicious Donuts in 2005 because they wanted to build something special on their own terms. They got married in 2008, and raised three boys — Aiden, Jaeden, and Raiden — between the proof racks. (Yes, the breakfast menu is named after them.)
For nine years the shop ran seven days a week. After their third son was born, Boun and Penny started closing Sundays to be with family — because that's the whole point.
